Thousands of people, who were subjected to compulsory internship in vocational high schools, universities and vocational schools, and who suffered because their insurances were not counted towards retirement, came together in Ankara, Ulus Square and called.
Speaking at the action organized by the victims of internship insurance, Ferhat Salman, President of the Internship Insurance Victims (SSM) Association, pointed out that internship victims are waiting for a solution.
"Young people who did their internship at the age of 14-15 started life as news about this situation. Now they are faced with retirement issues", Salman said.

Reminding that the internship is not considered as such although it is an active work, Salman stated that although the victims have insurance numbers, they do not provide any benefits in terms of retirement.
"The employee who entered before 1999 will retire with 5 thousand premium days, I paid 9 thousand premium days. I am subject to apprenticeship insurance, I am asked to work for 10 more years. We will enter the record books with 13 thousand days, I guess that is the goal. Where is the Justice?" he asked.
“WE FIRST SAID THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED, THEN WE WERE EXCLUDED”
Stating that they have voiced grievances in every field with the work we have done, Salman stated that the Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin has made different statements about internship victimization in the past months.
"He stated that they are working on the issue upon a question in a program he attended in Aydın, and that this issue will be resolved when EYT is resolved. When you heard such a thing from the mouth of the state's labor minister, we felt the same as you felt as a victim. In the program he participated in TRT, he said that the same labor minister's internship is outside of EYT. He was not satisfied with this and said that he was a trainee in another program he attended, and as a matter of fact, a student in the last one. Here, the following questions come to our mind, Mr. Minister, what has changed in those two weeks? What was the factor in your decision not to bring a solution to the internship victimization in those two weeks? Why don't you explain?" Salman added.
“THE SUBJECT IS COVERED BY BEING SILENT ON THE SUBJECT”
Pointing out that there are 53 law proposals regarding internship victimization, Salman underlined that some of the proposals were rejected and some of them remained unsuccessful.
"One way or another, a solution has been brought about EYT, but as there is no study related to internship, the issue is covered up by remaining silent. Well, there are 53 law proposals regarding the solution of the issue. We were an election promise in the 2014 elections, we were in the same situation in 2018, and the situation we have come to is clear. Let's bring an immediate solution to the people who did their internship before 1999 but started working after 1999, then let's think about the solution for all internship victims," Salman said.
