Millions of citizens, who are subject to compulsory internship in vocational high schools, universities and vocational schools, and who suffer because their insurances do not count towards retirement, are waiting for them to be covered by Retirement Age Victims (EYT) and put an end to the victimization.
The rejection of the bill submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the votes of AKP and MHP caused a reaction.
The focus of the reaction is the rejection vote of the MHP, which adorned billboards stating that the problem would be solved as an election promise in the past.
PRESENTED AS ELECTION PROMISE, REJECTED IN VOTING
The bill submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in the past days to accept the start of work for apprentices and interns as the start of insurance and to take it as a basis for retirement was rejected by AKP and MHP votes.
In the past election periods, it has led to questions whether the studies on the initialization of internship insurance, which was put forward by the MHP as an election promise, reflect the truth.

Speaking about the rejection of the proposal, Ferhat Salman, President of the Internship Insurance Victims Association (SSM), pointed out that the victims were waiting for a solution.
"It is obvious that the law proposal given by the CHP regarding the acceptance of internship and apprenticeship insurance as the beginning of Social Insurance Institution (SSK) was not accepted by the AKP and MHP. We see 53 law proposals submitted so far. However, we have seen that the MHP, which is a member of the People's Alliance, has drafted law proposals on this issue and abstained at the same time. In their 2014 and 2018 election manifestos, the MHP stated that this grievance of ours would be resolved during the election campaigns. In this case, it caught our attention that the MHP did not support the proposal," he said.
IT ONLY COVERS HEALTH
The law proposal to accept the day that apprentices and interns start work as the beginning of insurance and to take it as a basis for retirement, envisaged to make a regulation regarding the counting of insurance premiums paid for compulsory internships in vocational high schools and apprenticeship schools. Insurance premiums paid during compulsory internship only cover health.
