Iran said on Sunday it launched missiles into Syria targeting Daesh positions in response to last week's attacks in Tehran which killed 23 people.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement, saying that it launched surface-to-surface medium-range missiles into Syria's northeastern Deir el-Zour province where Daesh terrorists have a presence.
Sunday’s statement said the strikes came from bases in western Iran and claimed that many terrorists were killed and their weapons destroyed.
On June 7, 23 people were killed and scores injured in attacks claimed by Daesh on Iran’s parliament building and the shrine of Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic.
