Seyyed Abbas Mousavi Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman strongly condemned recent remarks North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg who had voiced support for US' assassination of Iran’s General Qasem Soleimani.
Mousavi expressed regret that NATO has been turned into a tool for justification of actions taken by the United States and some of its European allies to achieve their vicious aims in the region.
On January 6, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that all members of the Atlantic alliance stood behind the United States in the Middle East after it briefed NATO on its drone attack that killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.
