Republican People’s Party (CHP) Edirne Deputy Okan Gaytancıoğlu, in the parliamentary question he submitted to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM); “According to the news in the Milli Gazete dated May 19, 2022; Last year, TÜRKŞEKER sold the first-class chickpeas to a company called Çağlayan Food, far below the market prices, without any announcements or advertisements. It was revealed that this year, the same company had the sugars packaged in certain markets as part of discounted sugar sales. The relations between the aforementioned company and TÜRKŞEKER raise questions. I would like the following questions regarding this issue to be answered by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Vahit Kirişci,” he said.
“IS THERE AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THE DOCUMENTED CHICKPEA PRESENT?”
Gaytancıoğlu, asking the Minister of Agriculture Kirişci whether an investigation was opened regarding the chickpea exchange in TÜRKŞEKER Agriculture during the period when TÜRKŞEKER General Manager Mücahit Alkan was the chairman of the board of directors, he added, “If there is an investigation, what was the result?” Gaytancıoğlu, who wanted to explain why first class chickpeas, whose market price was between 7,5 and 8 Turkish Liras (TL) at that time, were allowed to be sold to Çağlayan Food for 4,93 TL and the institution was harmed, by saying, "Will there be any action against those responsible for this damage? Has it been examined whether there is a relationship of interest between the company in question and TÜRKŞEKER executives?” he asked.

Asking the Minister Kirişci to explain how the packaging of the sugar that TURKŞEKER gave to the markets within the scope of discounted sugar was given to Çağlayan Food, Gaytancıoğlu asked the Minister Kirişci to answer the following questions:
“Why was the packaging of the discounted sugar to be put on the market given to the same company? Has an announcement and tender been made for the packaging process? How much was paid to the company in question for the packaging process for the sale of discounted sugar?”
