The Islamic Union Conference, organized by the Center for Islamic Union Studies (ISBAM), was held in Ankara with intense participation. While Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu, World Association for Convergence between Sects President Ayatollah Hamit Shahriyari and Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Farazmand participated in the program, messages regarding the need for the establishment of the Islamic Union were given.
“WE SHOULD CREATE A COMPREHENSIVE COOPERATION FIELD”
Speaking at the opening of the program, Hasan Bitmez, President of the Center for Islamic Union Studies (ISBAM), pointed out that the negativities in the Islamic world are getting more complex with each passing day, and stated that the basis of this confusion is the games of global powers and the division of the Islamic world. Bitmez said, “In order to regain the strong role of Islamic societies in history, we have to build a comprehensive field of cooperation and protect it under all circumstances. To keep this field of cooperation as wide as possible and to strengthen its foundations, we must stand together. Only in this way we can overcome the crises we are experiencing today and overcome our problems.”
“THE RATIONALITY SHOULD BE CHOSEN, NOT THE CONFLICT”
Ayatollah Hamit Shahriyari, Chairman of the World Organization for Convergence between Sects, who participated in the program, emphasized the importance of rationality, not conflicts, in Muslim countries with the Islamic Union Conference, and said, “We see that political parties and people continue their lives with different thoughts in the Islamic world and in Turkey. We see that political parties are in conflict to reach power. However, Islam invites us to talk to each other with reason. Should the safety and security of the Islamic Ummah be damaged? Those who choose the path of rationality in this regard will not encounter such a result. Turkey is an example in this regard. In Turkey, these debates and conflicts are resolved at the ballot box. However, this is not possible in many Islamic countries. For example, we cannot see a strong government in Iraq or Lebanon. This breadth has not been reached in these countries. We need to ensure This wisdom and rationality in all Islamic countries. The results of the ballot boxes should determine the future of the people, not the street clashes.”
“WE HAD BEEN UNITED, WE WOULD NOT HAVE WATCHED THE DESTRUCTION AND DIVISION OF THE OTTOMAN”
Noting that there is no synergy within the Islamic world, Shahriyari stated that the synergy that needs to be created should be in many areas, “We need to be together in order to be strong. Many coalitions need to be formed. We need to help each other. It is necessary for us to be together in studies carried out in universities. Synergy in security, that is, when the borders of an Islamic country are violated, Islamic countries need to act together. No country can do this alone. The entire Islamic world needs to act together. If this synergy had existed, we would not have witnessed the collapse and division of the Ottoman Empire. We could not resist. They always want to keep us apart. Because they want to sell their guns to us, exploit our underground resources,” he added.
“D-8 IS A PROMISING INSTITUTION FOR THE ISLAMIC WORLD”
Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Farazmand, who stated that the late Milli Görüş Leader Necmettin Erbakan's actions for the Islamic world will not be forgotten, noted that the Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), established by Erbakan Hodja, was an important step and said, "We will never forget Erbakan. We never forget that he made his first visit to Iran when he became Prime Minister. Despite all the pressures, his visit to Iran was the first step in the realization of Erbakan Hodja's D-8 idea. This establishment is a promising step for the Islamic world. As the Iranian state, we tried to establish the D-8 university and this university was established in Hamedan. We hope that other Islamic countries will also give importance to this organization.”
"THE ONLY WAY TO AGAINST BOP IS ISLAMIC UNION"
Pointing out that the Islamic Union is a very important issue, Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu stating that the project should not be forgotten, he said, “There is a plan on the agenda of the world, especially the USA, about changing the borders of the countries in the Middle East. This subject comes up frequently. I don't think that countries can fight one by one to stand against this project. If there is an armed attack on us, we will fight until the last drop of our blood, but we need to act together on this issue. The Greater Middle East Project (BOP) is a project directly related to changing all borders. The main goal of this project is the establishment of Greater Israel. They are trying to block the resistance by calling it the Greater Middle East Project. The most important step in resisting this project is the establishment of the Islamic Union. If we can establish this unity and ensure its continuity, we can fight together.”
