The Deputy Governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu al-Rub, gave information about the situation in the region after the Israeli attacks.
Abu al-Rub said that "80 percent of the houses in the camp were damaged in Israel's attacks on Jenin Refugee Camp, which consists of about a thousand buildings consisting of apartments and detached houses," and described the attacks as "barbaric".
The Palestinian official said that in addition to the damage to houses and structures, dozens of vehicles were completely or partially damaged in the attacks, and infrastructure such as water, electricity, fixed line and sewerage networks in the region were also destroyed.
Noting that the Jenin Governorate has started the "repair process", he noted that the effects of the demolition will be announced later by the relevant authorities.
THE GOAL IS TO BREAK RELATIONS BETWEEN HAMAS AND THE PALESTINIAN ADMINISTRATION
Although it is stated that Israel did not target the Palestinian administration with its attacks on Jenin city in the occupied West Bank for two days, it seems difficult for Ramallah not to be affected by the process.
The invading Israeli forces had finally raided the West Bank city of Jenin and the Jenin Refugee Camp as of Monday night and placed the region under siege.
12 Palestinians, including 4 children, were killed and approximately 120 people were injured, 20 of them seriously, in the violent attacks of the Israeli forces from the air and ground, which lasted for 48 hours.
It was observed that Tel Aviv, with the attack on Jenin, tried to send a message that it did not target the Palestinian authority and did not want to re-occupy Jenin.
The Palestinian Authority strongly condemned the airstrike and raid carried out by Israeli forces on the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
Nabil Abu Rudaina, Spokesperson of the Palestinian Presidency, in a written statement, "What the Israeli occupation government has done in Jenin city and camp is a new war crime against our defenseless people. Until the occupation is defeated and liberated, the Palestinian people will not kneel before this brutal attack, will not surrender, will not raise the white flag and will stand firm on their land."
"WE DON'T WANT TO WEAKEN THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY"
It is a matter of curiosity how Israel's attacks on Jenin will affect the future of the Palestinian Authority.
A senior Israeli source, who did not want to be named, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the Jenin operation took place in the "A zone", which belongs to Palestine administratively and security, within the framework of the "Second Oslo Agreement" signed between Palestine and Israel in 1995, and that He said it was an indisputable fact that there was a "challenge" to his authority.
At the same time, the Israeli official stated that it is unquestionable that they want the Palestinian administration to stay and be strengthened to fulfill its responsibility, and that they do not want to weaken the administration in Ramallah.
The Israeli military source, however, argued that the Palestinian administration has become too weak to enter Jenin in the last 1.5 years to arrest gunmen. Israel's attack on Jenin started a few hours after the Israeli Public Broadcasting Organization (KAN) reported that a meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to strengthen the Palestinian administration.
