At the call of the Arab Citizens' Monitoring High Committee in Israel, the action that started on May 29 by setting up tents in front of the Israeli government buildings in the western part of occupied Jerusalem to protest the spread of crime in the Arab community continued yesterday.

Ahmad Tibi, MP for the Joint Arab List Bloc, formed by parties representing Israeli Palestinians, said the wave of crime involving the Arab community in Israel was exacerbated by the complicity of the Israeli police.

"The Israeli police allow weapons smuggling from Israeli army bases to Arab lands, and the spread of that weapon is killing and destroying us," Tibi said.

Noting that the racist Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir is a part of the problem, not the solution, with his "racism and relations with Arabs", and that the government also does not have a policy on this issue, Tibi said that the Zionist Israeli police know who the criminal organizations are, but turn a blind eye to them.

BEN-GVIR PERSONALLY IS PART OF THE CRIME

"Ben-Gvir lives in a Jewish occupation unit and those occupation units are the world's largest terrorist organization and the largest criminal project, so it cannot be the address of the fight against crime, because he (Ben-Gvir) is part of the crime," Tibi added.

Stating that the Arab community wanted to continue the protest and make its voice heard, Tibi said that the government was involved in this chaos and became an accomplice, and that the recent clashes between criminal organizations have caused the number of "victims and dead" to increase.

According to data from the High Committee for Monitoring of Arab Citizens in Israel, the number of murder victims in the country's Arab community since the beginning of this year has reached 78, including 6 women and 2 children.

Generally, the Israeli government denies accusations by its citizens and leaders of Arab parties and institutions "of being complicit in crimes in the country's Arab society."

Arabs, who make up about 21 percent of Israel's population, say the government has implemented a policy of "discrimination" against them, including not taking seriously the killings.
