The US CNN television channel announced that Israel used US-made ammunition in the attack on the camp of displaced Palestinians in Rafah city in the Gaza Strip.

According to CNN, weapons experts evaluated the footage shared on social media of Israel's attack on the Palestinian camp.

Based on the images, experts stated that Israel used the US-made GBU-39 small-scale bomb in the attack and that the serial number of the ammunition in the region matched the parts produced in the US.

SERIAL NUMBERS MATCH

Explosive weapons expert Chris Cobb-Smith stated that Israel used bombs made by US-based Boeing.

"In densely populated areas, the use of any ammunition, even small-caliber, always entails risks," Cobb-Smith said.

Trevor Ball, a former US military member and member of the explosive ordnance disposal team, stated that the bomb has different features compared to other ammunition and that he can easily detect it from its tail.

US Department of Defense (Pentagon) Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh responded to the question of whether a US-made bomb was used in Israel's attack by saying, "I do not know what type of ammunition was used, I recommend you ask the Israelis about this."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the precautionary decisions taken on May 24, the UN's judicial body, the International Court of Justice, ruled that Israel should immediately stop its attacks on Rafah, not block humanitarian aid, and allow UN officials to enter Gaza to investigate its crimes.

45 Palestinians lost their lives in Israel's attack on the camp of forcibly displaced Palestinians in Rafah city in the Gaza Strip on May 26, where the ICJ decided to stop the attacks.

Eyewitnesses said, "The Israeli army's bombardment caused many tents in the camp to be destroyed and burned. This camp is not located in the city of Rafah, where thousands of displaced Palestinians live, in the area where the Israeli army wants to be evacuated."

Witnesses stated that Israeli warplanes attacked the camp with at least 8 rockets.

On the other hand, Juliette Touma, Communications Director of the United Nations (UN) Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), reported that the loss of life in the Israeli attack on the camp was very high and at least 200 people were killed.
