Israeli flags hung on the protocol road at the entrance of Ankara to welcome Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who came to Turkey at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, were removed by the youth of the Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) Ankara Branch University Commission.

Palestinian flags were hung in place of the lowered Israeli flags. Israeli flags were hung on the poles on the protocol road in Ankara for Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who was invited by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and announced to come to Turkey on March 9-10. Young people in the University Commission of the Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) Ankara Branch removed these flags and hung Palestinian flags instead. Young people noted that they do not want the President of Israel in Turkey.

THE VISIT REACTED BY REMOVING ISRAELI FLAGS

Before the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Ankara, Israeli flags were hung on the roads where Herzog would pass. The youth of the AGD Ankara Branch, who reacted to Herzog's arrival, reacted to the visit to be made by lowering the Israeli flags. While reminding the attacks carried out by Israel on Palestine and Masjid al-Aqsa by the youth, it was stated that the steps of normalization with Israel cannot be accepted.

MANY SUPPORT SHARES HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED

While many messages of support were published on the social media regarding the action carried out by the youth, Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman, who shared about the lowering of the Israeli flags, said, “The rags were taken off, the glorious Palestinian flags were hung in their place. Israel has no place in Muslim lands." Congratulating the youth, AGD Chairman Salih Turhan said, “There is no state called Israel, so it cannot have a flag. Praise be to our valiants."

WE ARE DEEPLY SORRY THAT THE VISIT SHOWED LIKE NORMAL

Speaking to our newspaper about the action carried out by the youth, AGD Ankara Branch President Ahmet Şanver stated that Herzog's arrival in Turkey and that they are against normalization with Israel, said, "Masjid al-Aqsa, which is our Harem, is raided by terrorist Israelis every day, and the dignity of Muslims continues to be trampled on. The fact that the head of terrorist Israel, Isaac Herzog, will come to Turkey while the Muslim homeland weeps every day due to the invasions of terrorist Israel, is only a cause of shame for the Muslims of Turkey. We are deeply saddened to hang the flags of the murderous state at the entrances of the city, especially during the welcoming ceremonies, and to try to make the visit seem normal.”

“WE CAN'T REMAIN SILENT AT THIS SHAME”

Reminding that the Ottoman Cemetery, which was restored by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Jerusalem, was destroyed by the Jews, Şanver said, “The flags of an understanding that broke the Turkish flag with sledgehammers and removed the Turkish signs in the Yusufiye Cemetery in Jerusalem, which was restored by TIKA, one of the institutions of our country, appear at the entrances of the city. It's not like it's digestible. We could not and have not remained silent to this shame. It will be a disgrace to our honorable history that our Muslim nation should face such shame while leading the Islamic world for centuries. We regret to see that Muslim leaders are competing for cooperation where they should react to terrorists."
