The Istanbul Chamber of Electrical Technicians (ETO) filed a complaint with the Istanbul Regional Administrative Court due to the technical difficulties they experienced with Bosphorus Electricity Distribution Corporation (BEDAŞ) and the problems in subscription transactions. Stating that the Demand Management System introduced by BEDAŞ causes delays in subscription transactions and therefore the citizens pay the illegal usage fee, the head of the chamber, Haluk Bozali, underlined that they did not see any closeness when they conveyed the problems to BEDAŞ.
“WE ARE A BRIDGE BETWEEN CITIZEN AND COMPANIES”
Haluk Bozali, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Electrical Technicians, in his statement at the exit of the court, “Today, we have gathered to announce our complaints, regulations and apply with the electrical energy that concerns the life of our citizens. Our chamber, which was established in 1945 and has 3,000 members, is a chamber that conveys the demands of the citizens, monitors their transactions, and provides public service. We are obliged to draw the projects of energy distribution companies. We are a bridge between citizens and companies. Even though we offered solutions and we warn distribution companies, we could not make any progress,” he said.
“WE ARE TIRED OF BEING SCCAPEGOATS”
Talking about the deficiencies in the Demand Management System, Bozali added, “The Demand Management System introduced by BEDAŞ to make the transactions faster is the only place where we send requests. When we reported the problems in this system, we did not see any sympathy from BEDAŞ. While it is said that electricity subscription will become easier, we see that the problems are increasing. Our citizens are always faced with these problems. Delays in this system return to our citizens as illegal electricity bills. We are here to protect the rights of our citizens and to create public opinion. We want electricity subscription to be easier and more accessible. Although we have conveyed these problems to the distribution company many times, the distribution company is thinking of going its own way. Citizens think we can't do our job. We are tired of being scapegoats.”
