Turkey's main opposition party CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, attended the dinner held by the Rights Defenders Platform in Istanbul.
Kılıçdaroğlu meeting with the graduates of the Department of Kurdish Language and Literature at the invitation, Kılıçdaroğlu said that he requested the opening of Kurdish courses within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
"Is there democracy in Turkey? No democracy in Turkey. We say the Kurdish problem, we call social problems and it is but politicians. We gave a petition about this on June 6, 2012. They said that you do not understand us from this business. OK. we said we are ready to give all kinds of support, but still could not solve," he said.
Kılıçdaroğlu pointed out the literary aspect of the Kurdish language from his speech, "There is Kurdish literature. Kurdish ancient language. Kurds have not emerged yesterday. It has a culture of historical depth. Kurdish literature, cinema, art and painting should be. It will happen anyway. CHP as local governments, we want to provide this service", he added.
