Ambassador Hussam Zomlot, Head of the Palestine Mission in the UK, who came to the fore with his comments on Western television following the attacks of terrorist Israel on Gaza, said that the oppression in his country started 106 years ago, not on October 7.

Reacting to the narrative of Israel's massacres in Gaza and the suffering in Palestine as if they started yesterday, Zomlot said, "It all started when Britain promised our land to others without consulting us, turning us, the nation of Palestine, into non-Jewish minorities."

Zomlot emphasized that the Palestinian people are the original inhabitants and basic civilization of the region.

Stating that the Balfour Declaration brought with it major problems, Zomlot noted that the rights of the Palestinian people began to be ignored with this declaration.

"All these years, the Palestinian people have struggled to liberate our land, to return to our properties, homes and farms, to receive equality and equal treatment, and to ensure the implementation of international decisions", he said.

"It all started not on October 7, but 106 years ago. The Palestinian people's quest for freedom and justice must now be seen. We need to look at the issue of human rights, national rights and international consensus and law," Ambassador Zomlot said, pointing out that Israel constantly resorts to violence.

"What Israel understands is a military solution and violence. Intimidating civilians and putting pressure on civilian communities," he added.

"THEY ARE THE VICTIM IN THEIR MINDS"

Emphasizing that Israel is constantly trying to portray itself as a victim, Zomlot said, "They want Palestinians to be condemned for forcing them to kill themselves. Do you look at the mentality? 'Desperate Israelis' have to kill us, steal our land, destroy our homes, bomb every living thing in Gaza. In their minds, they are the victims."

Stating that there are people among Israeli administrators who believe that names such as Itamar Ben-Gvir and Benjamin Netanyahu can do whatever they want and that they are special and superior, Zomlot said, "If they want, they can kill thousands of children, bomb hospitals, destroy schools. They could even completely destroy a city like Gaza."
