It was decided to change the name of Gümüşsuyu Campus of Istanbul Technical University (ITU), one of the leading education centers in our country. As a result of the proposal proposed and accepted to the University Senate, the name of the campus in question became “ITU Gümüşsuyu Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Campus”. In the text of the decision written on the subject, “Our 1978 ITU Mechanical Faculty graduate and the 23rd Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan's name was given to Gümüşsuyu Campus due to his valuable contributions to our university and our country, and the name of the relevant campus was named ‘ITU Gümüşsuyu Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Campus’ was found appropriate at the University Administrative Board meeting dated 06.10.2022 and numbered 1364 and proposed to the University Senate. In the meeting of the University Senate dated 06.10.2022 and numbered 813, the proposal was discussed and found appropriate,” it was said.
ERBAKAN'S RECORD IS STILL UNBROKEN
The record that Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Hodja who is exemplary with his statesmanship, knowledge, intelligence and struggle, Milli Görüş’s leader achieved during his university years is still talked about. The fact that Erbakan Hodja graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of ITU with an average of 3,98 and the record has not been broken yet increases the respect for our Erbakan Hodja. After graduating from Istanbul Boys' High School in 1943, Erbakan, who won the right to enter the university without an exam, nevertheless preferred to take the exam and won the ITU Mechanical Engineering. The record of Erbakan Hodja, who graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department with an average of 3,98, still has not been broken.
