Sağlık-Sen healthcare workers Chairman Semih Durmuş announced at a press conference the proposals they will present to the government in the 6th Term Collective Agreement Negotiations, which will start on August 2.
Durmuş stated that the top priority demand of healthcare professionals is the end of wage injustice stemming from revolving funds.
"There is a huge difference between the wages of a nurse working in hospital A and a nurse working in hospital B. Likewise, there is a huge difference between the wages of a specialist working in hospital A and a specialist working in hospital B. A fair and equitable wage policy needs to be reconstructed in healthcare by eliminating these differences," he said.
"ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS MUST BE INCREASED CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT MUST END"
Durmuş listed some of the other demands of their unions as follows:
"Additional payments of health and social workers should be increased by at least 40 percent or special service compensation should be increased by 40 points. Guard fees should be increased by at least 50 percent. The scope of social service compensation of those working in the Ministry of Family and Social Services should be expanded to 50 points. 4/b indefinitely contracted personnel, surrogate midwives/nurses and family health workers who are not public officials should be transferred to 3+1 status. Those who have completed 3 years should be included in the staff. All healthcare workers should be given clothing aid of 500 TL for 2022 and 650 TL for 2023. Health workers should be paid a shift fee in return for their work on administrative leave days. Those who take the call watch must be paid. University hospital employees should be given the right to make excuses and get back."
