In the statement of Women and Democracy Association (KADEM), which again resorted to wordplay to distort the facts, contradictory statements drew attention.
THE DEFINITION OF “GENDER” REJECTS KADEM
The article "KADEM is based on men and women as gender", mentioned by KADEM in the statement to which it responded to the headline of Milli Gazete, clearly contradicts the definition of gender.
In the definition of gender criterias as "It is not innate, it is learned. They are not based on biological differences. Gender is the expectations and beliefs about duties, responsibilities, abilities and behaviors attributed to women and men without any biological basis. It is not universal, most importantly it is interchangeable," are used.
The so-called "caring for and protecting the family" defense of the understanding that destroys our social values by destructing the patriarchal structure in Muslim Turkish society by burdening women with duties that exceed the limits of their disposition seems to be a separate issue of contradiction.
WHY GENDER JUSTICE, AND NOT MALE-FEMALE JUSTICE?
Another striking contradiction in KADEM's statement is the use of the phrase "gender", which was imposed by the Council of Europe and legitimized de-sexing, rather than "women and men's justice" in the title of the congress.
When viewed from this perspective, it is another matter of curiosity why KADEM, which expresses that it rejects different gender models, insistently considers the concept of "gender" to be appropriate for the title of the congress to be held for the 8th time.
