Felicity (Saadet) Party Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the electricity company, which declared a concordat, to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA). Karaduman, who submitted a question to the Speaker of the Assembly with the request of the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Dönmez to answer, asked what kind of measures the ministry had taken.
KARADUMAN: “COMPANY ANNOUNCED CONCORDAT”
As it will be remembered, Yılmaz Electricity Company, which is responsible for a significant part of the maintenance/repair and new line installation works, declared a concordat with the subcontractors in order to ensure the electricity distribution in Turkey without any problems. Reminding that the company confirmed these news with the written statement published on the official website of the company in the questionnaire, Karaduman said, “It is said that most of the personnel working in Yılmaz Electricity and its subcontractors did not receive their salaries for two months, December 2021 and January 2022. If no precaution is taken, there will be long-term power outages across Turkey with the cessation of maintenance/repair and new line installation works.”
“WHAT PRECAUTIONS DID YOU TAKE?”
Karaduman asked Minister Dönmez to answer the following questions:
1. Has Yılmaz Electricity's operations throughout Turkey been stopped after the declaration of concordat? Do you have any involvement and knowledge about the process?
2. What precautions have you taken regarding the problems that may arise due to the cessation of maintenance and repair work?
3. Have you talked to Yılmaz Electricity officials? What process will be followed after that?
4. What is the total number of personnel working in Yılmaz Electricity and its subcontractors? How many of these employees have not received a salary in the last two months?
