Abdulkadir Karaduman, Konya Deputy of Saadet Party, referring to the statements of Agriculture Minister Vahit Kirişci praising the agriculture and lands of Venezuela, said, “The Minister of Agriculture, who is responsible for protecting and developing agriculture and animal husbandry, and increasing the production in the country, envies the agricultural production in Venezuela. Minister of Agriculture as soon as possible; Instead of investing in agriculture beyond the oceans, he should focus on protecting and developing agriculture and animal husbandry, which has come to an end in his own country.”

Saadet Party Konya Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman evaluated the developments on the agenda at the press conference he held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Karaduman made statements about agriculture, especially the economy, and the expected price of hazelnuts.

“THE POLICIES OF THE GOVERNMENT MADE FARMERS TAKE AWAY FROM AGRICULTURE”

Karaduman, underlining that it is getting harder to reach food products every day, “The costs almost made our farmers forget the field road. It becomes impossible to keep the producer in the field. In Turkey, agricultural lands are decreasing, concrete is increasing, while the villages are being emptied; population is concentrated in cities. On the other hand, the number of farmers is decreasing rapidly. The cultivated agricultural area in Turkey, which was once an agricultural country, has decreased by 5 percent in the last 10 years and by 12 percent in the last 20 years. Having 26 million 350 thousand hectares of agricultural land in 2001, Turkey's agricultural lands decreased to 24 million 395 thousand hectares in 2010 and 23 million 136 thousand hectares in 2020. The exorbitant cost increases in fertilizer, diesel, electricity and water, inadequate and irregular supports and the import policy made the farmers take away from agriculture,” he added.

“MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE MUST FOCUS ON AGRICULTURE IN TURKEY”

Karaduman, who was critical of the government's agricultural policies, reminded the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişçi's statements praising the agriculture and lands of Venezuela and continued as follows; “While the whole world is clinging to agriculture, Turkey is turning from agriculture to concrete. The producer's leaving the field, reflected as the high price in the market and bazaar. Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture, who is responsible for protecting and developing agriculture and animal husbandry, and increasing production in the country, envies agricultural production in Venezuela. You will plant corn, produce sugar beet, and even their leftovers will suffice as fodder for you. But come see that the Minister of Agriculture; he is unaware of even this simple connection between agriculture and animal husbandry. Minister of Agriculture as soon as possible; Instead of investing in agriculture beyond the oceans, he should focus on protecting and developing agriculture and animal husbandry, which has come to an end in his own country,” he said.
