Saadet Party Konya Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman gave a parliamentary question to Health Minister Fahrettin Koca so that the decision of the Ministry of Health to give a monthly minimum wage to senior intern students in medical faculties also includes poor students studying at foundation universities.

In the parliamentary question, Karaduman said, “There is an expectation that this regulation will be revised and reorganized to include poor intern students studying at foundation universities.”

Saadet Party Konya Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the issue to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) so that the monthly minimum wage should be paid to the senior intern students of medical faculties, as well as the students who are studying at foundation universities and who are in poor condition. Karaduman, who submitted a parliamentary question to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly with the request of Health Minister Fahrettin Koca to answer, asked for the application to be expanded.

"POOR STUDENTS SHOULD BE ALSO COVERED”

Reminding that the decision of the Ministry of Health to give a monthly minimum wage to intern students in the last year of medical faculties, Karaduman said, “The fact that this decision will not be implemented for intern students in medical faculties of foundation universities causes a serious injustice. While the wealthy intern student at the state university medical faculty will receive the minimum wage, the poor intern student at the foundation university medical faculty will be deprived of this right. There is an expectation that this regulation will be revised and reorganized to include poor intern students studying at foundation universities.”

“HOW MANY STUDENTS HAVE BENEFIT FROM SO FAR?”

Karaduman then asked the following questions to Minister of Health Koca:

“What is the number of students who have benefited so far within the scope of your ministry's decision to give a monthly minimum wage to intern students in the last year of medical faculties?

Do you plan to update this application to include poor intern students in foundation university medicine faculties?

Are the complaints and suggestions submitted to you regarding the subject evaluated?

In the coming period; What are the studies you are doing in order to provide scholarship opportunities to students studying at the faculty of medicine, faculty of pharmacy, faculty of dentistry and faculty of health sciences and to contribute to their career plans?”
