Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu was the guest of the Agenda Turkey program on TV5. Answering the questions of journalist Mustafa Yılmaz, Karamollaoğlu made important evaluations on the issues of economy, justice and foreign policy, especially the 6-Table meetings.
ASİLTÜRK HAS GREAT SERVICES TO OUR CASE AND OUR COUNTRY
Speaking about the first year of the death of Oğuzhan Asiltürk, one of the leaders of the Milli Görüş Movement, Karamollaoğlu said, “Oğuzhan Asiltürk is one of the first people I met when I came home after completing my education abroad. We had the opportunity to meet as a family all the time. Behind this, he served as interior minister in the Erbakan and Ecevit government. Oğuzhan Asiltürk was a person of faith, sincere in his belief and always had certain principles. He was a man who did not compromise on his principles. Oğuzhan Asiltürk's stance in the Cyprus Peace Operation was very clear. That's why we made that intervention. Asiltürk strongly broguht the issues he believed in to the agenda. He would even negotiate this with Erbakan Hodja. In the style of 'it should be like this'... That's why; Erbakan Hodja always valued Oğuzhan Asiltürk. Asiltürk was with Erbakan Hodja throughout his entire political life. Asiltürk has provided great services both to our cause and to our country. May Almighty God have mercy on him, may his place be in heaven.”
WE SHOULD GET THE ASSEMBLY TO ITS OLD STRENGTH
Referring to the start of the last legislative year of the 27th term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Karamollaoğlu underlined that the Parliament does not matter anymore and said, “Because the President has all the powers. That's why we need to return to the strengthened parliamentary system. We must restore the old power of the Assembly, restore its dignity. This is a very important situation. The leader should have some personal decision-making power, but should always consult with the Assembly. If you remove the consultation mechanism, you will end up in the situation we are in today.”
“SNAP ELECTION COULD BE ON MAY 14”
Karamollaoğlu stated that there could be a snap election on May 14 and continued as follows: “May 14 seems like a logical date to create the impression that we are probably producing solutions to the problems we are dragged into today. But it could be otherwise. All their policies are built on slander, lies and insults. They have no hesitation in slandering or lying. But when it comes to insults, their treasury is vast. They are not aware; with insulting a person is actually describing themselves,” he added.
“A FOREIGN POLICY WITH PRINCIPLES MUST BE CONDUCTED”
Karamollaoğlu, who criticized the government on foreign policy, stated that the government could not carry out a foreign policy with principles and said, “Unfortunately, we do not have the power to implement a foreign policy with principles at the moment. In order to be effective in foreign policy, it is necessary to act according to principles. We cannot become a strong country without implementing the right foreign policy. Turkey is currently in a bankrupted foreign policy. Turkey, should immediately come together with countries that are similar in terms of culture and faith that are under the threat of invasion. The most important example of this is the Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8s). For 20 years, they have made no effort to make the D-8 stronger. D-8 is very important for peace in the Middle East.”
“NORMALIZATION IS A CONSENT TO ILLEGALITIES”
Reacting harshly to the AKP government's rapprochement with Israel, Karamollaoğlu criticizes the perception of the world leader created through President Erdoğan and said, “The world leader is not like that, the world leader is made by establishing the D-8s. You will shake hands with Herzog, the perpetrator of this persecution, you will embrace and normalize. You will sell the people they killed on the Mavi Marmara for 22 million dollars. After that, you will say, can this be done! You will say both shoe and nail. You will meet Herzog at Beştepe, you will meet Mahmud Abbas at the airport with the deputy governor of Ankara! In this way, you will try to put both parties to sleep. Erdogan could not go to Gaza, but I i went. Today Gaza has turned into an open-air prison. Will such a country exist? When we got there, we said to them, 'We are behind you'. We will never give up on this idea. The normalization practiced by the AKP and Erdogan today means consenting to injustices. What are you doing to prevent this persecution?” he asked.
“THEY STARTED WARS WHILE SAYING WE WOULD BRING DEMOCRACY”
Emphasizing that the borders of many countries in our region were changed with the Greater Middle East Project (BOP), Karamollaoğlu drew attention to the fact that Syria, Iraq and Libya were turned into a bloodbath and tears with this project. Karamollaoğlu stated that wars are being waged in the Middle East by saying ‘we are bringing democracy’, “This is a study for the implementation of the BOP. We have the solution. We came together with the D-8s against the BOP. Now we're really dispersed. Whatever words he uses in the conditions of that day will create a good mood. Tayyip Erdogan is adept at saying this. It spins right away. BOP's co-chairman, today He says it's not me. He was saying let's give Cyprus, he says now, ‘What is the situation for Cyprus now’,” Karamollaoğlu added.
“WE THANK TO THE ÖZDEMİR FAMILY”
Emphasizing that a major breakthrough has been made in UAV-UCAVs recently, Karamollaoğlu said, “We are grateful to Özdemir Bayraktar family at this point. I have known Özdemir Bayraktar for a long time. They are truly exceptional people. Their way were cleared, and after that, they wrote an epic. I believe that; There can be dozens of people like Selçuk Bayraktar. And we can create a team that will make an epic on the field. But the government should be behind him.”
“WE SHOULD MAKE AN ALLIANCE THROUGH A CANDIDATE WHO WILL WIN”
Noting that there has been no conflict at the six-party table so far, Karamollaoğlu said, “We need to form an alliance over the candidate with the highest chance of being elected. Hopefully there will be no problem here. Each political party leader will bring his own proposal. We will not talk about the candidate issue until the election date is announced. We may have different opinions. But if we cannot identify our candidate who will be chosen, all our work will be wasted. Considering the majority in the Parliament, what kind of administration will we implement when the person we designate as the president wins the election? Today, we need to talk about this too.”
“NO ONE CAN CREATE A PRESSURE THAT IT WILL BE MY CANDIDATE”
Evaluating the statement of Good (IYI) Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener that ‘the six table is not a notary public’, “These are reasonable statements while talking. Nobody is a notary. No one can put pressure on to be mine. These are brought up and discussed. Of course, there has to be a candidate who will win. We should discuss all these issues at the table and settle them. I did not see any objection in Akşener's statements. Alliances can happen within the alliance, and it is beneficial to do so,” Karamollaoğlu added.
