Saadet Party Chairman and Presidential candidate Temel Karamollaoğlu commented on the social media criticism of the election co-operation his party with the CHP, saying, "The friends whom say this, either ignorant or very malicious". Karamollaoğlu said, "Please let this friend see what the past was like and what kind of person Erbakan Hodja was."
Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu spoke to Kubra Par from Haberturk newspaper over 24 June elections. Karamollaoğlu responded to Par's questions.
- Mr. Karamollaoglu, there is less than a week to elections. Are you excited?
Our expectation is high. It was used very often in the media; there is a bottom wave in these elections. I guess this dipper is most likely to manifest our favor. We will see how it will be but on election day. But we believe that there will be a serious change in these elections.
The recent involvement of the Saadet Party in the National Alliance, not within the Presidential Alliance, has led to debates on "Is it against the tradition of Saadet?" In this sense, how do you react to the leadership? In this process, did you come criticized as "You have moved away from the Milli Görüş case, have you cooperated with the CHP"?
Such a reaction from the ground is very, very rare, actually no longer. This reaction comes entirely from the AK Party. Those who say it is not the people who know the Milli Görüş. Erbakan Hodja, for the first time in 1974, formed a coalition with the CHP. That coalition has made very great services. Erbakan Hodja later met with other parties. But especially when a coalition with the Democrat Party was formed in 1996, the speech he made in Parliament against those who wanted to accuse him otherwise was very clear. Friends who say this do not know what the hell they know, Milli Görüş. They are moving with prejudice. I do not think that the interests of the country are so concerned.
