The 72-year-old Muslim homeland of Kashmir, which suffered greatly during the Indian occupation, was brought to the agenda at Sabahattin Zaim University in Istanbul.

Regional experts, academics and journalists working on South Asia made a presentation at the Kashmir Issue with 'Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow' conference organized by Yeniler Club.

The opening speech of the program Sabahattin Zaim University Rector Adviser and Professor of International Relations Department Dr. Arif Ersoy did.

In his speech, Ersoy touched upon the global order of oppression and explained the pressures of world Zionism and racist imperialism on oppressed peoples through the example of Kashmir.

"KASHMIR'S FREEDOM DEPENDS ON THE UNITY OF MUSLIMS..."

Speaking at the first session of the conference, President of South Asia Strategic Research Center (GASAM) Cemal Demir said, "When we talk about Kashmir, we also talk about Arakan, Palestine and East Turkestan. India has a population of more than 200 million Muslims and is a Muslim-dominated country in the world. For years, Hindus and Muslims lived peacefully in the Indian subcontinent. In order to solve the Kashmir problem, the Muslims of India and Pakistan should make an action plan for the freedom of the Kashmir people as the pioneers of civil resistance. The people of Kashmir should make full use of international civil diplomacy. The freedom of Kashmir is in the solidarity of the Muslims of the region."

PLANS OF GLOBAL FORCES CHOKE KASHMIR

Drawing attention to the global Zionist occupation efforts in the region, Demir said, "We are getting information that Israeli soldiers have increased recently in the region. The Indian-Israeli and US alliances are developing relations with each passing day. In the United States, which pursues a policy of balancing China, the possibility of significant military agglomeration in the region is expressed by 2020. Kashmiri people continue to be crushed between power and interest scenarios. We invite the Indian administration to suhulete and to give the Kashmir people special status."

KASHMIRIS HAVE A GREAT TRUST ON PAKISTAN

Merve Şebnem Oruç, a journalist who recently shared her impressions of their visit to the Kashmir region, said, "3 of the 4 wars between India and Pakistan occurred because of the Kashmir problem. India declares Kashmir as its territory, while Pakistan shows the decision of the United Nations to referendum and argues that Kashmiris have the right to self-rule. There is great love and trust in Pakistan in Kashmir. The flags of Pakistan laid on the bodies of the martyrs are one of the most obvious indicators of this."

INDIA DISCUSSES NEGOTIATION IN KASHMIR

Regional Development Specialist Mehmet Emre Aktuna, "To read the Kashmir first you need to know the history well. When we look at Cyprus, Palestine and Kashmir, it is remarkable that there are many similar aspects at these three points. Turkey is trying to get out, and with the Kashmir problem with India is conducting policies to solve the problem through bilateral dialogue between Pakistan. India rejects the bilateral negotiations completely and argues that Kashmir is the internal issue of India."
