CHP and MHP held their weekly group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). While CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu referred to the government program announced by the Nation’s Alliance, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli gave extensive coverage to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's candidacy in his speech. Kılıçdaroğlu underlined that the Common Policies Memorandum prepared by the Nation’s Alliance is “a first in the history of democracy” and said, “Six leaders came together to change the one-man regime, which has become a survival issue for the state, and bring democracy to this country. If six leaders in the history of the Republic come together to find solutions to over 2,300 existing problems one by one and do it unanimously, Turkey's future is bright, no one should worry.”
“I WILL NEVER TAKE A STEP BACK”
Kılıçdaroğlu pointed out that despite the increase in the minimum wage, it remained below the hunger limit and said: “There is a one-man regime where sweat is made so cheap and people are condemned to receive wages below the hunger limit. My task is to build a system in which no minimum wage earner will receive salaries below the hunger limit when we come to power.” Kılıçdaroğlu stated that he received warnings about this issue “before he declared war on gangs” and said: “Assassination threats started coming when he determined that the money stolen from the state treasury was 418 billion dollars. Am I scared? I do not give a damn. Mr. Kemal will never, ever take a step back!”
“IT IS LEGAL LIKE ICE”
MHP leader Bahceli, regarding President Erdogan's re-candidacy debates, said, “Erdogan's candidacy for the presidency is like ice, like honey in line with the law, in line with the Constitution, and is morally and legally legitimate.” Regarding the nationalists trimming their mustaches and leaving the MHP after the murder of Former President of Grey Wolves (Ülkü Ocakları) Assoc. Dr. Sinan Ateş, he said: “There are those who trimmed their mustaches and leave, we will not deal with those who are not among us spiritually anyway. We will not complain about the absence of those who do not exist.”
