Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with media representatives. Answering questions about the agenda, Kılıçdaroğlu also made statements on the candidacy, especially the Six Opposition Parties.

THE CANDIDATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED AFTER THESE TWO THINGS

Answering the question about when the presidential candidate will be announced, Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that if two situations occur, it will be announced. Kılıçdaroğlu said, “After the government program and the transition schedule to the Strengthened Parliamentary System are determined, the candidate will be announced.” Kılıçdaroğlu, to the questions about whether he will be a candidate or not, said, “If they say that you are our candidate, the 6 opposition parties that will make the decision, of course, we will be the candidate. We will respect the common will of the 6 leaders.”

“WE NEED RULES NOT A KING”

Kılıçdaroğlu, on the insistent candidacy questions of journalists, said, “The problem is a system problem. What if it's X, what if it's Y? We want to change the system and bring democracy. It's a long-running effort by six leaders. This is no ordinary endeavor. We get together, but before that each party does sub-works. Texts are sent to the leaders, they are distributed, the vice presidents are all working. We must first tell the public what we are going to do among ourselves. We left the system, who will be the presidential candidate. The king is gone, another king. We need rules, not kings. We want the rules of human rights, of the judiciary. We let the issue go, who will be the new king? We don't want a king.”

“NOT INTERFERING IN THE INTERNAL BUSINESS OF ANY OTHER PARTY”

Asked the question, “It is a political issue for a party to make a statement that it can be a candidate for the mayor of another party. How do you evaluate it in terms of gentry?” Kılıçdaroğlu by answering “A party should not interfere in the internal affairs of another party. Each party has its own rules, each party has its own will and boards. Each party makes its own evaluation, if there is a problem. That's the truth of the matter,” he said.
