Republican People’s Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) held weekly group meetings in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu came to power over the economy at the group meeting of his party. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli made harsh criticisms of the opposition parties.
KILIÇDAROĞLU: “WHAT FACTORY DID THEY BUILD?”
Kılıçdaroğlu stated that 57 governments served this country until the Justice and Development Party (AKP) governments, “From the establishment of the Republic to 2002, 57 governments served. The money spent by 57 governments is 713 billion dollars. They paid the debt of the Ottomans down to the last penny. They stood proudly. They did not open their hands to anyone. They spent 713 billion dollars and made Turkey one of the 20 most developed economies in the world in 1990. AKP came to power, the money spent is 2 trillion 631 billion dollars. You come to power in 2002, you spend 2 trillion and Turkey falls out of the G20 league. Ask this question. Show a sugar factory, a fertilizer factory built by the AKP. What did they do? Which factory they built? They sold all the factories and ate the money,” he said.
KILIÇDAROĞLU: “FARMER IS EXHAUSTED”
Speaking about the approval of the prison sentence given to Canan Kaftancıoğlu, the Istanbul Provincial Chairwoman of her party, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that she does not recognize the political ban on Kaftancıoğlu. Kılıçdaroğlu, who came to power over the economy, emphasized that the farmer was in a miserable state and added: “I know their troubles and problems. Why hasn't only two Thrace-sized areas been planted since 2002, who is preventing it? When the AKP deputy arrives, ask. Why don't you pay for their losses? There is money for the usurer, the corrupt, the gang of five.”
BAHÇELİ: “THERE IS AN OPPOSITION THAT DOES NOT THINK OF THE FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY”
Regarding the decision of the Supreme Court of Appeals regarding CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairwoman Canan Kaftancıoğlu, MHP Chairperson Devlet Bahçeli said, "The path to politics has been closed for the CHP's Istanbul provincial head, and it has now become legally clear that the CHP is being depurated with a ban on politics." Referring to the inflation figures, Bahçeli stated that price increases that negatively affect people's welfare and living standards in the market, bazaar and other areas will be prevented, and that the head of the inflation monster will definitely be crushed. Evaluating the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) membership debates of Sweden and Finland, Bahçeli added: “Before the end of the Russia-Ukraine War, the participation of a new member in NATO will lead the world to a new fire. It will not just update the security map of Europe. I warn everyone, the end of this is not peace, but total war.”
