Republican People’s Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) held weekly group meetings in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu came to power over the economy at the group meeting of his party. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli made harsh criticisms of the opposition parties.

KILIÇDAROĞLU: “WE AIM TO BE TOGETHER”

Kılıçdaroğlu evaluated the gathering of 6 opposition party leaders and said, “Actually, all segments of society are represented there. We all see the disaster and negativity brought about by handing over the decision-making mechanisms of the state to one person. Turkey needs to get out of this swamp. Turkey needs to get out of here in peace. We want to turn the Parliament back into the People's Assembly. We want to rebuild a parliament that acts with the will of the people. We aim to be together, not polarized." Explaining his five-point solution proposal for the crisis in the economy, Kılıçdaroğlu urged the government to abandon adventurous money and exchange rate policies in the economy. Expressing that the state will not be governed by adventurous policies, Kılıçdaroğlu added, “Stop the currency-protected deposits immediately. You are dragging Turkey into disaster. You take from the poor and give to the rich. Public-private cooperation that puts the treasury under an immeasurable burden, it is a complete robbery. Convert this to Turkish Lira (TL) immediately bro. They made Turkey foreign-dependent in agriculture and energy. Has such a picture occurred in Turkey? How did Turkey get to this point? We pray that the ships will come. Sugar fell on the black market. As far as I know, if sugar fell on the black market, it happened during the Second World War. How come there's a sugar black market? You will pay the debt 211 billion TL to the farmer, my brother."

“EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS OF A DIRTY CONSPIRACY”

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli criticized the gathering of 6 opposition party leaders. Speaking about his party's falling vote rate in the latest polls, Bahçeli said, targeting the survey companies, “There is nothing we can learn from our rental survey companies.” Making evaluations about the agriculture sector, Bahçeli pointed out that agricultural cities should be established. Referring to the increase in sugar and sunflower oil, Bahçeli added: “The production of high yield and quality seeds, cions and saplings in accordance with the conditions of our country should be supported. There is no realistic basis for the increase in sugar prices after sunflower oil. Going from 7 TL to 19 TL in 2 weeks is nothing but a dirty conspiracy served with an external link. The expectation of a price increase, the greed of opportunists stockpiling sugar suddenly made sugar controversial.”
