Cruelty of invader Israel forces against Palestinians is endless. According to news of the Independent, Israel Embassy that arranged trainings for Panamanian police made Palestinians target in weapon practice. It was learned that police officers targetted images of people who wore traditional Palestinians clothes during the target practice in Panama where Israel gives training support, caused great reactions in the country.
PALESTINIANS ON TARGET
Footages that are published by Chamber of Commerce that is established by Panamanian National Police and Israelis living in Panama, from trainings of last week are deleted after backlash. In one of the images it is seen that a police officer aims on a target that wears Palestinian keffiyeh.
Panamanian National Police apologized in a statement it made. In the statement, “We respect cultural, ethnical and religious differences. In the event we attend as a guest, we are sorry to cause an incident that is inappropriate for our missions. We apologize for those who affected by the incident” it was said.
On the other hand, Panama Solidarity Committee with Palestine condemned training that includes scandal footages. Palestine Information Office in the central American country criticized the incident. The office, saying that targets should be prepared with images without silhoutte, stressed the incident is a racist and discriminating event.
A RACIST ACT
While reactions rising in social media, Panama Solidarity Committee with Palestine also shared a message condemning the terrible incident. In the message, it was stated that the given training by Israel, "includes racism that whom wears headscarf or similar clothes are seen as potential terrorists." Palestine Information Office in Panama reacting to the practice, also stated that this is a discriminating and racist act that Panama should not show tolerance. An anonymous social media user reacting to the incident by saying "What’s the purpose of Panamanian Police with showing Palestinian woman as a terrorism symbol?"
