Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu stated that they are ready for the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games and said that Konya will host the games in the best way possible.

Turkey's first Olympic velodrome and very important facilities at international standards such as Olympic swimming pool, athletics track were brought to Konya by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. 
 
Speaking about the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in our city of Konya, Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu said, “We will organize the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya with the highest participation. Of course, we were very prepared for this. We have prepared as a country, Konya has made a great contribution to this. As the Ministry, we have put our relationship with the relevant institutions in the strongest way there. We tour our facilities with our guests and introduce these to them. We built the first velodrome of our country in Konya. We built this place during the pandemic. There is a velodrome for the Paris Olympics. Its runway width is 8 meters. There is 2nd in our city of Konya. It is ready, our athletes are ready and excited. This place will host both the Islamic Solidarity Games and in the next process, it will grow the cyclists in our country.” 
 

KONYA TAKES THE TITLE OF THE WORLD SPORTS CAPITAL 

 
“On the other hand, it will provide camp center service to athletes from all over the world. Here, too, training and competitions will be presented in the best way. It is a facility that gives us excitement in terms of demonstrating the point and standards of Turkey. The official opening will be held on the next Tuesday, with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, just before the openings. We have established a good cooperation with the city managers here. While renewing the existing infrastructure, we also brought new facilities to Konya. We opened Olympic pool last week. Turkey's the newest and most modern Olympic pool has been put into service. We put our athletics track into service. It is also a world class facility. We have an infrastructure that appeals to every segment in every branch, and a facility that serves both Turkey and the world. Konya is now a world-class sports facility. It will take the title of world sports capital in the next days,” Kasapoğlu added.
