Despite the Greek Cypriots being in need in every ways, there is still a scandal in the Cyprus negotiations, which is always the Turkish side being forced to make compromising concessions. After the inconclusive Montpelier summit, the United States took the ball. The Turkish and the Greek sides are again sitting on the table.
Under UN leadership, the Greek Cypriot side, which has been pursuing more concessions in Montpelier's summit on November 7th and ending on November 21st, has been "solved" by the US's entry into the talks. Immediately following the failure of the Greek Cypriots to get what they wanted from the talks, a sudden solution to the problem came shortly after US Deputy Commissioner John Kerry came to the "Island" on December 3rd. After Kerry's talks with the two leaders, the Turkish side is going to make big concessions to Geneva as usual ...
TO BE EQUAL GREEK SIDE TO GIVE LAND
If a state has to give land for the treaty, this state is not called TRNC. The total value of Turkish property, which was imposed by the Greeks in 1963-1964, is 2 billion Dollars. This figure was recorded in the Ortega Report prepared by the UN in 1964.
WE ARE ABOUT TO LOSE ONE OUT OF FIVE
Today, the land value demanded by the Greeks is well over 2 billion dollars. According to the UN report, the side to demand land in international law is the TRNC. However, TRNC President Mustafa Akıncı accepted the lowest rate of 28.2 per cent and the highest rate of 29.2 per cent on land reclamation. If you they shake hands even at 29.2, the TRNC will lose one outof five of the existing land.
CYBRUS TO BE AGRICULTURAL LAND
The volume of water coming from Turkey to Cyprus is 150 million tons. It's just the water that a pipe carries. There are 3 pipelines between the island and Turkey. That means 450 million tons of water can be transported in total. 15 percent of the land was used before the clean water was drawn to the TRNC; This figure will rise to 33 percent within 2-3 years. Clean water is now only given to the houses. Soon, 55 percent of the water will be transferred to houses and 45 percent will be transferred to agriculture and industry. It will start to be used in agriculture in 2017. As the water prices will decrease by 3 times, the fruit and vegetable prices will decrease naturally and the yield will increase between 10% and 40%.
WHO NEEDS WHOM
In Cyprus, the Greek Cypriots "no to watering Helen trees with Turkish water," are demanding water from Turkey on November 20th. The electricity line to be withdrawn from Turkey-Cyprus water line next year will be completed within 2 years at the latest. Likewise, fiber internet and natural gas lines will be completed within 5 years. At the moment there is a fixed electricity fee of 20 pounds. As a result, electricity bills in Cyprus usually exceed one hundred liras. When the electricity line is completed, the prices will also decrease considerably.
