Laylat al-raghaib, which is realized on the night that connects the first Thursday of the month of Recep, one of the three months of great importance for the Islamic world, to Friday, is considered as the ‘night of mercy and abundance’. In the dictionary, ‘regaip’, which means "the thing that is in demand, abundant and valuable donation", is used in the meaning of "good deeds, rewards, virtuous deeds" in the hadith and fiqh literature.
İdris Bozkurt, Member of the Religious Affairs High Council of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, drew attention to the importance of repentance, forgiveness and prayer tonight. Bozkurt stated that although there is no special prayer for this night, it is very beneficial to perform voluntary prayers. Bozkurt said, “On this night, the Quran is read and supererogatory prayers are performed. If our health allows, we can fast in the daytime.”
