Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu and Gelecek Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu visited the Turkish Pensioners Association (TÜED) with their accompanying delegation.
While the problems experienced by retirees came to the fore during the visit, Karamollaoğlu pointed out that the pensions of retirees were below the hunger line.
Davutoğlu, on the other hand, stated that he does not believe that the government will make a raise until January.
KARAMOLLAOĞLU DRAW ATTENTION TO THE HUNGER LIMIT, DAVUTOĞLU SAID "WE DO NOT EXPECT A RAISE"
Speaking during the visit, Karamollaoğlu pointed out that pensions are below the hunger line and stated that the real issue is not hunger but the poverty line.
"It's not just about feeding the retirees. The point is to meet all their needs, Karamollaoğlu said.
Reminding that the government is marking the New Year, Davutoğlu underlined that the government cannot get along with the retirees and that they do not expect additional raises for retirees until January.
“THE RAISE GIVEN MELTED IN 3 MONTHS”
TÜED Chairman Kazım Ergün, who made statements about the problems of retirees within the scope of the visit, underlined that retirees do not have the strength to endure until January.
"The 3-month CPI rate exceeded the 25 percent increase given to retirees in July. This means that the purchasing power of retirees will be negative until January. In other words, the raise given eroded in 3 months. What needs to be done is to immediately give the 8 thousand TL raise given to civil servants to retirees," Ergün said.
