In the statement, which did not mention the name of Hezbollah, it was stated that after a truck carrying ammunition overturned on the main road in Kahale, tensions arose between the residents of the region and the truck owners.
In the statement, which included the information that 2 people died as a result of the tension, it was noted that the truck was towed to a military center for examination, and the highway was reopened to traffic.
The military has also stepped up security measures in the region. In Kahale, where the incident took place, the soldiers were deployed at different points in case of a new tension and conflict.
Security forces also examined the spot where the truck belonging to Hezbollah crashed and collected the empty shell casings left on the ground after the conflict.
CONFLICT IN KAHALE
Hezbollah said in a statement the previous day that a truck belonging to itself was accidentally overturned in the Kahala region on its way from the Beqa'a region in the east of the country to the capital Beirut.
The residents of Kahale, where Hezbollah's arch-rival Christian Lebanese Forces Party is active, wanted to confiscate the truck and its cargo, and a conflict ensued.
In the conflict, a member of the Hezbollah militia and a resident of Kahale lost their lives. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated that they closely followed the incident in the Kahale region with the Lebanese Chief of General Staff Joseph Awn.
