In the message published with the signature of the "Türk-İş" Board of Directors, it was requested that legal arrangements be made for women to be more active in their working life and to solve the problems they face.
“GLOBAL UNEMPLOYMENT AFFECTS WOMEN THE MOST”
In the statement, it was stated that women are most affected by unemployment and insecure working conditions imposed by the global economy.
"Due to the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, employees have lost their jobs to a large extent. Women are among the segments that are adversely affected by these developments. At the height of the epidemic crisis, nearly a quarter of young women in employment lost their jobs. Due to the closure of educational institutions and kindergartens during the pandemic period, women were the most victims of working parents. In this period, mostly women had to quit their jobs to provide child care," it was stated.
“WOMEN SHOULD BE ACTIVE IN ALL AREAS”
At the end of the statement, which underlined the importance of women's active involvement in all fields for a livable world, the following was noted:
"It is extremely important for women to strengthen their field of activity based on human rights, to benefit equally from opportunities in education, employment, health, law, politics and similar fields, and to distribute the rights and responsibilities given to men and women fairly. Türk-İş and its member unions will continue to support women, whose living and working conditions have become more difficult due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and will continue to stand by them in their just struggle."
