Bolu Municipality, which recently made a decision that drew public reaction, changed the wedding fee of foreigners to 100,000 Turkish Liras (TL) and a cubic meter of water to 2,5 dollars for foreigners upon the request of Mayor Tanju Özcan.
The lawsuit filed by the International Refugee Rights Association, which took action with request for the cancellation of the Bolu Municipal Council's decisions to raise the water and wedding fees of the refugees, has been concluded.
In the case in question, the court granted a stay of execution.
The court, which ruled for the stay of execution of the municipality's decision, also explained its justification.
Accordingly, in addition to the justification that irreparable damages may arise, it was also determined that the proceedings were contrary to national and international legislation, included discrimination and had no legitimate basis.
