Chairman of Felicity (Saadet) Party Temel Karamollaoğlu made important evaluations on the agenda at the weekly regular press conference. At the meeting held at the headquarters of his party, Karamollaoğlu drew attention to the difficult process Turkey is going through. Emphasizing that our country has entered into an environment of polarization from all sides, Karamollaoğlu said, “We are faced with a polarized Turkey in terms of economic conditions, unlike social polarization. Our country is currently divided into two poles. On the one hand, ‘well-off ones’ who are fed from public resources and receive salaries from more than one institution… On the other hand, at a time when the poverty line exceeds 15,000 Turkish Liras (TL); There are those who try to live with around 4,000 TL, to survive by eating one meal a day with a Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) scholarship of 850 TL, who have to drop out of school because they cannot afford their expenses, and those who cannot reach the basic consumer goods whose prices are increasing day by day and cannot put salt on their table. On the one hand, Power and supporters of power, they closed in the glass mansions and inside the mansion, they turn deaf their ears to voices other than insincere and unreal whispers… On the other hand; There are millions of people struggling to make a living and trying to make their voices heard in the government due to the increasing cost of living. On the one hand, luxury, pomp, gimmickry and waste; On the other side, there is poverty, hardship, hunger, whining and lamentation.”

“THE QUALITY OF OUR PEOPLE'S LIFE IS BEING RASPED EVERY DAY”

Reminding that the government promised only yesterday that it would ‘close the current account deficit in just 6 months’, Karamollaoğlu continued his speech as follows:

"The economic destruction caused by the Erdogan government, which turned the Turkish Lira into stamps, is eroding the quality of life and the joy of living of our people day by day. Although the government and its partners, who have turned Turkey into a fire by pouring gasoline on inflation, say that our country is growing, the bread that enters the stomach of the citizens is getting smaller day by day. People are condemned to a quality of life that goes back a little more every day. According to the research, the number of people who reduce their meals in order to make a living is 50,3 percent. 31,9 percent of our citizens state that they go hungry from time to time in order to survive. 61,8 percent of them stopped eating meat. 57,9 percent of them do less laundry now. 62,5 percent say they stopped using their private vehicles," he added.

"LET'S LISTEN TO OUR UNIVERSITY YOUTH"

Noting that the gravity of the situation will be understood more clearly when university students are listened to, Karamollaoğlu said, “A university student of ours explained his problem with the following lines; ‘I reduced the diet to two meals. I go to bed hungry at night. The dorm is at the top of the mountain, but I commute on foot. I drink chlorinated water from the tap because I cannot buy ready-made water every day.' Another of our children; ‘We do not shop, we do not eat out, we walk everywhere. We do not go out of the dormitory as much as possible; because if we leave, the money in our pocket will fly by itself. A pair of trousers cost 300 TL. I have never felt so unhappy, depressed, tired in my life,’ he said. Another is; ‘I cannot buy food outside the school cafeteria. Since it's closed on the weekend, I'm having it with pasta and bulgur at home. I haven't eaten eggs for 3 months,’ he says. These expressions show that; people have become short of eating food in order to make a living. While the government and its partners enlarge the 'blessings' of their own circles; Our people are reducing the portions to make a living, and the saddest thing is that they skip meals now.”

“THE GOVERNMENT WHO FAILS TO ACHIEVE ITS TARGET GIVES A NEW DATE EVERY DAY”

Revealing the dire economic picture, Karamollaoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“Only in the first 2 months, the current account deficit increased by 186 percent compared to the previous year. Inflation would decrease in a few months. In the third month of the year, that is, it has already increased to 61 percent. Overtaking the dollar rate and inflation target in the Medium Term Program announced in September in 6 months; The government is now telling us that it can get Turkey out of this crisis after 2023. The government, which cannot achieve any of its goals, creates a new challenge every day, unfortunately gives new date. There is no way or discourse that they do not use to cover up their incompetence! They also made it a habit to repeat that ‘Inflation is not only in Turkey; It is a general problem in the world’. They say, 'There is inflation not only in us, but in all countries'. However, in no other country in the world does inflation increase so fast in just one year. Also, they know this like the palm of their hand; Turkey is the inflation champion among Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries,” he added.

“THERE IS NO SUCH POWER ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!”

Saying that there is no such government anywhere in the world, Karamollaoğlu said, “Lithuania, the country closest to Turkey, has an inflation rate of 12 percent; The OECD average is 7,7 percent. Turkey with 61 percent inflation; It has doubled Lithuania by 5 and the OECD average by 8 times. The average inflation rate in the euro area is 5,9 percent. There can be inflation all over the world; but there is no other country in the world where inflation increases so rapidly in one year, O people in power! There is no government that drags its country into hyperinflation nowhere in the world on the spot like you, fighting with facts, mathematics, economics on purpose! Nowhere in the world is there an arrogant government that has stayed in power for 20 years, blames its opponents for the crisis, and says, ‘We're just getting started, we'll figure this out!’ Since there is no management approach similar to the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the People's Alliance anywhere in the world, high inflation is not encountered as in ours.”

KARAMOLLAOĞLU ANNOUNCED THE CRITERIA OF THE CANDIDATE

Karamollaoğlu, who also made evaluations about the Presidential candidacy debate that has flared up recently, listed the criteria for the candidate as follows:

“Although it is more than a year before the elections; A nomination debate is going on. Will the candidate be this or that? Why? Because in this period when the problems are at their peak, to draw attention to another side and to cover up the facts! There is still time to reveal the name of the candidate; If you say 'but what kind of candidate should he be', here I am explaining our criteria. The candidate must and will be determined in accordance with these criteria. Our candidate; It will be embracing, not polarizing. Our candidate is not divisive but unifying; It will be conciliatory, not alienating. He will prioritize right and justice, not force. It will be based on service, not interest. He will keep his door open to everyone, certainly not partisan. He will not say 'I do whatever I want', he will always give importance to consultation. He will never betray the trust. He will claim the state's treasury as if it was a right of orphan. He will not steal, he will not let it to be stolen. It will not allow corruption, partisanship, flattery, looting and prohibition. He will be transparent in tenders and extremely meticulous in auditing. He will respect different ideas and thoughts, not what we like, but will do the right thing even if we don't like it. It will never allow the environment, history, beaches and green areas to be plundered. We will normalize Turkey in a short time,” he added.

“WE FIGHT FOR PRINCIPLES, NOT FOR PERSONS”

Saying “We do politics based on rules and principles, not individuals,” Karamollaoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“We are trying to change the corrupted order, not the government. Otherwise, after the system continues; Ahmet is gone - Mehmet has come, Party A is gone - Party B has come, it doesn't make any sense. We are the alternative of the system, not the people. We carry out and will carry out this process on the basis of principles, not individuals or parties. Nobody should worry. I hope we will try to take the right decisions for this country and take the best steps together,” he said.
