The persistent follow-up of the Milli Gazete yielded results. President Erdoğan has increased the 150 kW limit to 210 kW regarding the gradual electricity bill, to which the citizens reacted greatly.
However, the ambiguity regarding the number of days to read meters of energy companies continues.
Although citizens find the increase in the kilowatt hour limit positive, they continue to react both to the non-retreatment of the hikes and to the surging bills caused by the energy companies' delays in the bills.
MİLLİ GAZETE PERSISTENTLY WARNED
The government's reaction to the gradual hike in electricity last month, caused the government to take a step back.
After the persistent news of the Milli Gazete, President Erdoğan announced that the 150 kW limit was reduced to 210 kW.
However, the lack of any explanation about the late reading of the bills by energy companies gave rise to concerns that the same play could be staged again.
Milli Gazete in the news titled, 'Energy companies are delaying the bill and multiplying the hike! This is the bill of the game', "Energy companies have increased the meters that they used to read in 26-27 days, up to 33-35 days with the new year, in order to get a higher rate of increase from the citizens. In this way, households consuming less than 150 kilowatt-hours of electricity in 26-27 days have passed 150 kilowatt-hours with the increase in the number of days. Under normal circumstances, the citizen, who would only pay a 50 percent increase in bills because it was under 150 kilowatt hours, had to pay an increased bill of up to 125 percent with the help of energy companies," it was stated.
DELAYING BILLS CAUSES EXORBITANT PRICES
After the news of the Milli Gazete, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez signaled that they could take a step back in his statement, while President Erdoğan registered his step back in his statement.
Erdogan announced that the 150 kilowatt hour limit has been withdrawn to 210 kilowatt hours. It was noteworthy that Erdogan did not say anything about the increase of energy companies by delaying the bills. While the citizens want the exorbitant hike in the electricity tariff, which varies between 50 percent and 127 percent, to be withdrawn, they also draw attention to the swelling of the bills that are delayed by energy companies.
