Türkiye will go to the polls for the Local Government Elections on Sunday, March 31, 2024. The election calendar of the Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) is in progress.
Voter lists were suspended in headmen's offices. Voters must check their names by Jan. 17. Those who cannot find their names on the list will apply to the provincial and district population directorates.
The casting and distribution of voter information sheets will begin on February 29.

YSK determined that 36 political parties are eligible to participate in the election.
Political parties must submit their candidate lists to the relevant election boards by February 20.
Provisional candidate lists will be announced on February 23, and final candidate lists will be announced on March 3.
Only one envelope will be used in the election.
Voters in the metropolitan city will vote for the metropolitan mayor, district mayor, municipal council member, headman and alderman.
In other cities, votes will be given for provincial council membership, mayor, municipal council membership, headman and council of elders.
In the villages, votes will be cast for provincial council membership, headmanship and council of elders.
Ballot papers will be in four different colors: white, orange, blue and yellow. Voters will place all ballot papers in one envelope.
Voting hours
Voting hours were determined taking into account seasonal conditions.
Accordingly, the voting start and end times will be 07.00-16.00 in 32 eastern provinces. Voting hours in other provinces will be 08.00-17.00.
Voters abroad cannot vote in local elections.
Ballot boxes will be set up in prisons for detainees in penal institutions and those convicted of negligent crimes.
