An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 struck Turkey’s eastern province of Elazığ on March 19.
The quake hit Elazığ’s Sivrice district at 8.53 p.m. local time at a depth of 21 kilometers, according to Turkey’s National Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
No casualties or damage has been so far reported.
The region is one of the most seismically active districts in the country, where earthquakes occur often and are destructive.
Over 40 people died and hundreds were injured after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Elazığ on Jan. 24. The quake’s epicenter was again Sivrice district.
