Faculty members also support university students who do not step back despite the pressure, violence and prohibitions of the current government.
While police detention, torture and harsh interventions are not enough to silence consciences, the voices rising from US campuses resonate all over the world.
STUDENTS CREATE A GAZA SOLIDARITY CAMP
Students studying at Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus created a Gaza solidarity camp by setting up around 5 tents in the school garden.
The camp, established on the Fordham campus very close to Central Park, came right after the pro-Palestinian demonstrators at Columbia and City College universities were detained by the New York police.
THREAT FROM THE DEAN
In the statement signed by Dean Jenifer Campbell, students were told, "In light of these articles, you are requested to immediately comply with the instructions of university staff and leave Fordham University property."
Dean Campbell stated that demonstrators who do not comply with the instructions will be suspended and will not be allowed into programs such as exams and graduation ceremonies.
1,300 STUDENTS IN CUSTODY
Student protests in support of Palestine still continue at many major universities across the United States. According to records from the Washington Post, police have detained more than 1,300 students, including some faculty members, in the last 2 weeks.
US ADMINISTRATION WANTS TO BLOCK THE EVENTS WITH THE EXCUSE OF "ANTISEMITISM"
Unable to prevent demonstrations of support for Palestine, the US administration is trying to silence consciences through the lie of "anti-Semitism".
The bill titled "Antisemitism Awareness Act" was accepted in the General Assembly of the US House of Representatives with 320 yes votes against 91 no votes.
Defending the bill, House Speaker Republican Mike Johnson claimed that ongoing demonstrations in support of Palestine on campuses served the wave of "anti-Semitism" and increased anti-Semitism.
