Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced that schools will be closed on June 16, and that two months of make-up training will be held in the earthquake zone, between August 1 and September 1 and at the beginning of the new academic year.
Özer said that schools will be closed on May 29 due to the presidential run-off election.
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced in a program he attended yesterday that schools will go on holiday on 16 June.
"We have said before that there will be no sagging in the calendar and that we will close education and training on June 16," Ozer said.
Özer stated that a one-month make-up training will be held between August 1 and September 1 for students in the earthquake zone.
"At the start of the 2023-2024 academic year, we will organize another one-month make-up program while the education continues. We will make a 2-month make-up training program in total for our students in this region," Ozer added.

"In the election, the votes are given in our schools. All of our school administrators and teachers take an active part in the exam and elections. There will be a second round of elections on May 28. We will have a holiday in our schools on May 29, as an intense effort will be made to prepare our schools for education and training. Our students will be on leave. Our teachers will also be considered on administrative leave," Minister Ozer stated.
