Chief Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç and Georgian Ombudsman Nino Lomjaria signed a cooperation protocol between the two institutions.
MALKOC: “WE WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF THE CITIZENS OF BOTH COUNTRIES TOGETHER”
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ombdusman Malkoç said, “With this protocol, we will support Georgian citizens coming to Turkey to find solutions to their problems. In the same way, we will work with the Georgian Ombudsman to solve the problems that our citizens who go to Georgia will experience on the basis of law.”
“SHAME TO DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN PEOPLE!”
Speaking about his visits to Ukrainian refugees in Hungary, Malkoç criticized the hypocritical attitude of the Europe Union (EU) towards refugees. “All EU countries have opened their doors to all immigrants from Ukraine. EU administrators do not give the same treatment to those who come from Syria or those who come from other countries. As an ombudsman, I say; It's a disgraceful job, it’s a shameful work. It is the most shameful thing to discriminate among people according to their skin color, hair color, religion. The EU has done that,” Malkoç added.
LOMJARIA: “OUR COOPERATION IS GROWING”
Georgian Ombdusman Lomjaria stated that there was cooperation between the ombudsman of the two countries for a long time and said, "We are taking an important step to make this cooperation more comprehensive."
