Education union "Eğitim-Bir-Sen" Secretary General Latif Selvi, who attended the provincial council meetings of Eğitim-Bir-Sen Uşak and Kırıkkale, emphasized that the importance of face-to-face education was understood in the two years when distance education was implemented in schools due to the pandemic, and that the system in which education is applied equally for everyone is face-to-face education. He stated that the system was seen as a necessity.

"Precautions need to be taken for the continuation of face-to-face education. According to the statements of the Ministry of National Education, the necessary precautions have been taken in all schools. According to the latest data, it is seen that the number of classes interrupted due to the cases is quite low. There is no obstacle to continuing face-to-face education if cleaning and epidemic rules are followed. If there is anything that needs to be done, it is to understand the importance of face-to-face education, to continue to take the necessary measures to ensure its continuation, and to get used to education in epidemic conditions," Selvi said.

“MANDATORY APPLICATIONS LIKE PCR TEST SHOULD BE AVOIDED”

Selvi noted that while education continues with the effect of the epidemic with the opening of schools, coercive practices such as the compulsory PCR test applied to teachers should be ended.

"It is important and necessary to take precautions in schools, but compelling methods such as PCR test applications for education staff should also be stopped," he added.
