In the Fatih Mosque, where he was martyred on 23 February 1979, the Anatolian Youth Association Istanbul Branch University Commission (4 Faculties) attended the commemoration program, along with Saadet Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Ömer Faruk Yazıcı and AGD Istanbul Branch Chairman Yunus Genç.
Metin Yüksel, who preserved his place in the hearts despite his martyrdom years passed, was remembered with the program organized by the Anatolian Youth Association Istanbul Branch University Commission (4 Faculties).
Commemorated in Fatih Mosque where he was martyred on February 23, 1979, hands rose to the sky for the souls of Yüksel and all our martyrs.
The program to commemorate Metin Yüksel started with the Quran recitation in the courtyard of Fatih Mosque after the morning prayer. The program continued with the speech of AGD Istanbul Branch University Commission President Fatih Türkmen.
"WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HIS STRUGGLE MEANS."
Addressing a large number of participants, Türkmen said that Metin Yüksel is struggled to dominate the truth on earth and sacrificed his life in this way.
Noting that Yüksel's personality, dignified attitude and uncompromising character should be an example for young people, Türkmen said, "Especially in this period when the concepts of martyrdom and jihad are attacked and systematically tried to be removed from our vocabulary, we are obliged to remember the value of our brother Metin Yüksel in the axis of these concepts and to understand exactly what his struggle and martyrdom mean for us. Then we can pull the ummah out of its current situation and bring happiness to the people only then."
AGD Istanbul Branch President Yunus Genç also commemorated Metin Yüksel with mercy. Expressing the importance of martyrdom in his speech, Genç noted that Metin Yüksel has reached the seat of martyrdom by jihad. During the 42nd anniversary of Metin Yüksel's martyrdom, the program held in the courtyard of Fatih Mosque after the speeches. After the march to Yüksel's tomb, the program came to an end.
