Uyghur Turk Semsiye Tursun, who was among the participants of the protests against China, learned that her aunt passed away in the concentration camp during the vigil they carried out in the past days.
 
Oppressed Uyghur Turk, in her statement to our newspaper, said that her 65-year-old aunt was martyred on April 13, but they received this news two months later.
 
Sad news came to the Uyghurs who were on guard duty in Istanbul to protest the cruelty of the oppressive Chinese forces against the people of East Turkestan and to receive good news from their families, whom they had not received information for a long time. Uyghur Turk Semsiye Tursun, who was among the participants of the protests against China, learned that her aunt passed away in the concentration camp during the vigil they carried out in the past days.
 

“20 YEARS IMPRISONMENT IS GIVEN BECAUSE THEY COME TO TURKEY”

 
Making special statements to the Milli Gazete, Semsiye Tursun said that she came to Turkey in September 2012 and that her parents came to Turkey three times, the last one in 2017, to see both her and her grandchildren.
 
Tursun noted that when her parents returned to East Turkestan after their last visit, they communicated with them via the internet for a while, but their communication has been cut off since October 2017.
 
Tursun stated that she had information about the situation of her family indirectly, along with the situation in question.
 
"My mother and father were sentenced to 20 years in prison just because they came to Turkey. My father is 71 years old, my mother is 69 years old. Both of them are in very poor health condition, both have diabetes, both were using insulin. My father had heart surgery twice, and my mother has liver disease. They are both very sick, I am very worried about their well-being," Tursun said.
 

SHE RECEIVED THE NEWS OF MARTYRDOM TWO MONTHS LATER

 
Semsiye Tursun, who spoke to our newspaper about her aunt, whom she had received the news of martyrdom recently, stated that her reason for punishment was to come to Turkey.
 
Tursun said that she came to Turkey to see her deceased aunt's children in education.
 
"On the way back to China, they took my aunt directly from the airport and put her in a concentration camp. My aunt was 65 years old. They killed my aunt in prison on April 13 this year. We got the news two months later," she added.
