Mehmet Akif Inan Hall and Library at Ankara Science High School, where Mehmet Akif Inan, the Founding Chairman of ‘Eğitim-Bir-Sen’ Union, worked for many years, is put into service with the participation of ‘Memur-Sen’ Union and ‘Eğitim-Bir-Sen’ Union Chairman Ali Yalçın, ‘Eğitim-Bir-Sen’ Union General Secretary Latif Selvi, ‘Eğitim-Bir Sen’ Union members, Ankara Science High School Director Dr. Sinan Dağ, teachers and students.
YALÇIN: “INAN BRINGS A NEW BREATH TO TRADE UNION”
Speaking in the program, Ali Yalçın, Chairman of ‘Memur-Sen’ Union, underlined that Mehmet Akif İnan has produced valuable works, and said, "Akif İnan is a man of thought and action, poet, writer, who is in love with national and spiritual values, and is one of the 'Seven Beautiful Men'. During the period he lived, he was a friend, elder brother or teacher of the people around him, he was a true cause of action with his ideals, knowledge, culture, oratorship, enthusiasm, organization and activism, for which he never gave up and fought for a lifetime. On the road of right, labor and freedom struggle, he came out with by saying ‘Every action brings me back to life / Rivers, I dream by the lake’ He brought a new breath to unionism.”
“WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED SEVEN BEAUTIFUL MAN LIBRARY PROJECT IN SEVEN REGIONS”
Underlining that they attach importance to social and cultural activities, “We implemented the Seven Beautiful Men Libraries project in Seven Regions. Our aim, as an education union founded by a poet, writer and intellectual, is to increase meetings about the book, to ensure that there is an outcome as a result and to prepare the society for the future,” Yalçın added.
M. AKIF INAN LIBRARY OPENED
Mehmet Akif Inan Foundation Chairman of the Board Hıdır Yıldırım said that Akif Inan is a teacher who had work and influence. Ankara Science High School Director Dr. Sinan Dağ, on the other hand, thanked ‘Eğitim-Bir-Sen’ Union administrators for their support and contributions to the school's hall and library. After the speeches, Mehmet Akif Inan Hall and Library was put into service.
