Memur-Sen Confederation filed a criminal complaint against the colonel, who issued an internal order regarding dressing in Kayseri. Although the headscarf ban in the public sector was lifted in 2013 and in the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in 2017, the 2nd Main Maintenance Factory Manager of Kayseri Colonel İlhan Coşkun, with an internal order, put a headscarf and beard ban on the factory personnel and their families. The colonel, who had a headscarf indigestion, was suspended by the decision of the Ministry of National Defense (MSB). Memur-Sen Confederation also filed a criminal complaint against the prohibiting colonel.
YALÇIN: “WE FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT”
Memur-Sen Confederation Chairman Ali Yalçın said in a statement on social media that they had filed a criminal complaint against the colonel. Yalçın made the following statements in his statement: “We has filed a criminal complaint against Colonel İlhan Coşkun, who sees the headscarf as a reactionary threat, who made the mistake of banning headscarved people from being in command, who committed the crime of hate and discrimination as well as the unlawfulness of his order, and who is a fan of the process similar to February 28. We have made an application to the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey for legal action against the statements of this person, which is an open attack on human dignity, aims to make otherization reasonable by triggering discrimination based on belief, and ignores the rights we have obtained for imposition of dress.”
