May 1 events, celebrated by the workers and civil servants in the squares, are held online this year as in the previous year. The Memur-Sen Confederation will organize the May 1 event with an international congress in cooperation with Hacı Bayram Veli University. The Congress will be inaugurated by the President of the Assembly Mustafa Şentop.
May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day, which was previously celebrated in different cities and squares of the country, will be under the shadow of the epidemic this year, as it did last year.
In cooperation with Memur-Sen Confederation and Hacı Bayram Veli University, an international congress will be held on May 1, Labor and Solidarity Day, with the theme "The Need for a New Mentality in Working Life and Public Servants' Unionism as a Practical Application Ground".
CELEBRATIONS WILL BE CARRIED OUT ONLINE
With the vision of academic unionism, Memur-Sen, which brought together trade unionists from Turkey and abroad with its online May 1 meeting last year, aims to keep the spirit of May 1 alive with the online May 1 program for the 2nd time this year due to the epidemic. A congress will be held with Hacı Bayram Veli University within the scope of the May 1 congress with the theme "The Need for a New Mentality in Working Life and Public Servants' Unionism as a Practical Application Ground".
40 PAPERS WILL TAKE PLACE IN 10 DIFFERENT SESSIONS
The congress will last for 3 days and will include 40 papers in 10 different sessions; Acquis on public servants unionism, public personnel system, law no 4688, barriers and prohibitions against public servants unionism, working life, the need for a new mentality and thought management in working life, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on human and labor it will include. Academicians, researchers, trade unionists and experts from Turkey and abroad will come together at the congress and put a new understanding of unionism on the table.
