Good (İyi) Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener made evaluations on the agenda at the weekly group meeting of her party in the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Akşener, who devoted her speech to earthquake, said, "We did not only face the reality of the earthquake on February 6, 24 years after the 1999 earthquake. In fact, 24 years later, we are faced with the fact that no lessons have been learned."
“NEVER TAKE REFUGE IN FATE”
Emphasizing that there was a lack of coordination in the earthquake, Akşener said, "Even a servant of Allah does not resign, shame on you. I am ashamed of this incompetence that leaves its citizens alone in their most difficult moment. Erdoğan threatened our nation in his first television broadcast, one and a half days after the earthquake, saying, 'When the day comes, we will open the book we are keeping now.' Then he came out and, as he repeated in every disaster, shamelessly said, 'These are things that are in the destiny plan.'
Saying that the government is trying to cover up its own incompetence by calling it a destiny plan, Akşener said, "Erdogan, you can't put the heavy bill of the plundering scheme you set up on your destiny plan! You cannot hide the fact that you cannot manage our state by saying 'destiny plan'! Never take refuge in fate! You are the only one responsible for this incompetence, you!"
