Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) Istanbul Branch University Commission commemorated Metin Yüksel, who was martyred in the courtyard of Fatih Mosque on February 23, 1979, as a result of a treacherous attack.
Many students from AGD were present at the program, which started with the reading of Metin Yüksel's biography after the morning prayer.
AGD Istanbul Branch President Yunus Genç and AGD Istanbul University Commission President Muhammet Demiryürek participated in the memorial program organized for Metin Yuksel, who was remembered with prayers in the 41st year of his martyrdom.

Speaking in the program, AGD Istanbul Universities Commission President Muhammed Demiryürek, "Our Metin Yüksel brother appeared when the concepts of martyrdom and jihad were attacked and systematically tried to be removed from our vocabulary. We have to remember the value of jihad and martyrdom, and to understand what it means to us its struggle and martyrdom," he said.

Metin Yüksel, one of the leading names of the Akıncılar Association, one of the youth organizations of the National Vision (Milli Görüş) Movement, was attacked with guns during the friday prayer on February 23, 1979.
