Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) Istanbul Branch University Commission commemorated Metin Yüksel, who was martyred as a result of the attack on February 23, 1979 in the courtyard of Fatih Mosque, with prayers.
Speaking in the program that started with the recitation of the Quran after the morning prayer, AGD Istanbul Provincial President Mehmet Yaroğlu said, "We have gathered here today to commemorate and understand Metin Yüksel on the anniversary of his martyrdom. Metin Yüksel was a mujahid who thought and lived in a Muslim way. While the names of those who martyred Metin Yüksel are not read today, Metin Yüksel's struggle is passed on from generation to generation. The end of the life of jihad is martyrdom. It is the greatest honor to live and die as a Muslim."
Addressing the participants after Yaroğlu, AGD Istanbul former Provincial President Yunus Genç emphasized the importance of martyrdom.
